Requesting Routine Repair Services

Residents of the EPHA complexes who require repairs to the dwelling unit in which they live, can request this service by contacting the main office at 401-434-7645.

Residents are encouraged to report all problems or necessary repairs as they occur by calling the Housing Authority or stopping by the office during normal business hours. Any call outside of the EPHA’s normal business hours will be answered by the answering service that we contract with and delivered to the office the following work day.

When leaving a message residents are reminded to indicate permission authorizing personnel to enter the dwelling unit, in their absence, to correct the problem.

Emergency Repair Service

Requests for emergency repairs may be made by calling 401-434-7645 during working hours. Emergencies arising after-hours, weekends and holidays must be called into 401-434-7645 as well. The answering service will screen the calls to determine the need for immediate correction and report the situation to the personnel “on-call”.

As always, please dial 911 for any emergency that is life threatening!

HUD Assessment Inspections

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), annually contracts for the inspection and assessment of the Housing Authority owned properties. When these inspections are to take place, you will be notified of the date and approximate time. Not every unit will be inspected. The contractor will select a sampling of units to inspect the day he arrives. Depending on the EPHA’s score, the random inspections can occur anywhere from 1 – 3 years apart.

Unit Annual Inspections

The Housing Authority is required by HUD to inspect the condition of every unit on a yearly basis. Your housing specialist will schedule the inspections and notify you in advance. Any repairs needed in the unit will be documented by the inspector, and later corrected by a member of our Maintenance personnel. Some of the items they will assess include the following:
